Advertising images with multiple colors, gradients and half-tones are usually beyond the reach of silkscreen and pad-printing processes traditionally used in the promotional products industry. Until the development of digital imaging processes such as TIP®, it was difficult and expensive to produce promotional products with full-color images.The only viable processes to create high quality full-color graphics were photography and offset printing. Photographic process is suitable only for very small runs, with images subject to color fading over time.
